Monday, July 1, 2013. 11:50 p.m. The last end is woven in and Number 54 is done. I give it the now-traditional twirl on my hand, try it on for size–it fits me perfectly–and declare it another fine hat. With that, the Random Hats of Kindness Project is at an end, save sending out my hats into the world.
54 hand-knitted hats.
22 hats already sent out into the world to do their work there.
32 hats awaiting assignment.
In total, 44 hats–22 having already been knit up, 22 more from the Random Hats Project–and two scarves were sent out last year to three organizations charged with warming the heads and hearts of folks around the world. There’s a fair amount of satisfaction in that for me.
Up next? Another hat for another worthy project. Hey, I have the yarn . . .
