I’ve posted twice today already and neither one was up to snuff, as Dad would have said. It’s one of those days when words just aren’t adequate.
Sometimes I think about my Baptist upbringing and the antique language of the King James Version of the Bible, which in my church was the only translation allowed. I didn’t understand a lot of it as a kid, or as an adult, for that matter. Sometimes, though, like misheard song lyrics, a phrase comes into focus and I get it. I really get it. Kind of like today.
Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
I get that now. Sometimes, words just aren’t enough.
