Pushing on

Posted on

So I got out for a good walk yesterday. It’s been much less steamy here the last few days but I’m still working up a good sweat, and sweat is the key to shedding some weight. Today will be a rest day, not because I really want one, but because I’ve developed plantar fasciitis in my left foot and it needs a bit of a break.

Aging is such a trip, isn’t it? You get one thing working, more or less, and another one breaks down. But then, I remember similar problems the last time I got serious some years ago about taking care of myself and getting healthier in mind, body, and spirit. Maybe it’s just taking longer this time because I’m a few years older. In any case, I’m making some gains and I’m not willing to give them up. I’ll keep pushing on.

I will be strong. I will be healthy. I will find some happiness in this life. And I will be grateful for whatever good that comes my way.

  1. I’m going to try and live by your last paragraph. I’ve been working on the first two sentences and doing pretty good. It’s the last two that I need to repeat to myself. I always feel like I’ve been short changed on the happiness in life. I just need to remember to be grateful for whatever good I do have.
